– ARCserve ver 11 Installation & Configuration – June 2004
The aim of the project
was to backup over 400GB from 30 servers to a file system and then back
this data up to a Tanberg Tape Library (20 tapes). A number of jobs were
setup to run simultaneously to reduce the backup time frame. Devices,
Groups and media pools were all specifically setup and configured. A
further objective was to import the database from ARCserve ver 6.61 which
contained over 3GB of data into ver 11 and then upgrade it to SQL.
Asset Management ver 4
Project – March 2004
Thus PLC has 5 sites
and over 1500 workstations and servers. Although Asset Management had
been previously installed it was not reporting correctly. The project
objective was to produce comprehensive and accurate reports for the entire
organisation. With very little system documentation available, the system
was analysed and then a number of issues were discovered. The end result
was the required reports being successfully generated for the assets.
Multi-site Backup –
ARCserve ver 7 installation and configuration – Feb 2004
A large employment
agency with over 30 offices nationwide required ARCserve to be installed
and configured. Backup jobs were run simultaneously due to the short time
frame and speed of the data coming from the remote offices. Specific
configuration was carried with file system devices as well as staff
training.
Abacus Lighting – Muti-site
backup to tape library – Dec 2003
Enterprise customer
based in Nottingham was having a number of issues with their tape drive.
Installation and troubleshooting lead to successful backup and restore to
tape library.
Exchange / ARCServe ver
9 Disaster Recovery – Dec 2003
A large customer based
in central London (Mail on Sunday) had a very urgent requirement to
restore certain mail folders from their Exchange 5.5 Server using ARCserve.
With extensive experience in both Exchange and ARCserve I was able to put
together a plan of action for when the offsite tape arrived the following
day. This included recovering the exchange server onto a freshly
installed mirror server, running numerous database utilities and
retrieving the required folders. The project was successfully carried out
that Saturday.

onto 2 servers, 1 as backup. Every Citrix component was configured to
deliver the client’s exact requirements and windows 2000 configured for
best Citrix operation. Security, anti-virus, email and disaster recovery
were key aspects of the project. Achieved a fully operational VPN solution
