The journey of Cipher—an odyssey that began at the turn of the millennium, shaped by passion, partnerships, and a drive to do IT differently.
2000
Simon and Heather founded Cipher IT in 2000 with a shared vision to provide powerful solutions that are suitable for the largest of businesses, while offering the ease of use and affordability that small businesses demand.
2005
In 2005, Cipher became a Microsoft Partner, strengthening our ability to deliver trusted, high-quality IT solutions powered by industry-leading technology.
2007
In 2007, Cipher took a significant step forward by moving into our dedicated office space, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our growth and collaboration.
2010
In 2010, we acquired our first company van, an important milestone that enabled Cipher to expand our on-site support capabilities and deliver faster, more responsive service to clients across the region.
2013
In 2013, Cipher moved to Tech Park, an exciting relocation that provided a more modern, collaborative space to support our growing team and evolving client needs.
2015
In 2015, Cipher underwent a brand refresh and unveiled a new logo. A modern, professional identity that reflects our commitment to clarity, connection, and client-focused IT solutions.
2017
Cipher was one of the early adopters of the government-backed Cyber Essentials certification, achieving it in 2017 to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to robust cybersecurity and protecting our clients from common online threats.
2019
In 2019, Cipher became a 3CX Partner, expanding our communication solutions with advanced, VoIP-based phone system.
2020
Cipher achieved ISO 9001 certification, reinforcing our commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality service through robust quality management practices.
2021
Natascha and Ross step into new leadership roles, with Natascha being promoted to Accounts & HR Manager and Ross to Technical Team Leader.
2021
Since 2021, every member of the Cipher team has completed the Helpdesk Habits – Customer Service certification, with all new team members continuing to do so as part of our commitment to exceptional service and support.
2022
We expanded into the Design hub office, giving our growing team more space to collaborate, innovate, and support our clients even better.
2024
In 2024, finally achieved what we call “The A Team” – a group of passionate, skilled professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional IT support and driving our continued success.

Also in 2024, Cipher expanded once again, adding a dedicated admin office and meeting room to better support internal operations and enhance collaboration with clients.

In 2025, Ross was proudly promoted to Technical Manager – a well-deserved step recognising his expertise, and dedication to delivering outstanding technical support at Cipher.

In 2025 Chris became our first dedicated Account Manager and finally downed his tools.

In 2025, we achieved our Cyber Assurance Level 1 certification, another important step towards becoming an IASME partner and strengthening the way we protect both our own systems and those of our clients.

In December 2025, Cipher became an IASME Assured Service Provider with an employed Cyber Advisor, enhancing the expert guidance and support we offer.
This milestone means businesses across Coventry & Warwickshire can now access trusted, local expertise to align their IT with the government‑led Cyber Essentials framework.
